The Altar Guild is a dedicated team responsible for preparing and maintaining the Worship Center for all services and special events. They ensure the Altar reflects the church calendar, creating a sacred space for worship.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare the Worship Space: Setting up furnishings, linens, flowers, and candles for services.
Prepare for Communion: Ensuring that the elements / chalices, and linens are ready for each service.
Maintain Worship Items: Caring for and cleaning altarware and liturgical items.
Follow the Liturgical Calendar: Decorating the altar according to the seasons (Advent, Lent, Easter, etc.).
The Altar Guild’s work adds beauty and reverence to our worship, helping the congregation connect deeply with God. Members also learn about the history and symbolism of worship practices and the church calendar.
