Responding to your Town Hall feedback

Thanks to everyone who attended the Town Hall and shared feedback! Some of the response to that feedback will be more show than tell–you’ll see it in our actions–but some common threads emerged that I want to respond to directly.

Several people observed that it would be easier to think about how to address our facility-related needs if there were a priority list available. Great idea, and we’re working on it! That will be available in the next few weeks here in the Tidbits.

Also, there were several questions and ideas related to the transition to a new Worship Director:

  • Will Kelly and Ron still be part of the music team? I certainly hope so! They’re both gifted musicians who add a lot to our worship. They will likely take some well deserved time to rest, visit family, etc. but will be welcome to play on the team from time to time as well.

  • The Job Description that will guide the search process is available here in the Tidbits.

  • What “more” will be a part of the role since it’s full time? We first need to note the reality that, while Kelly is part time “on paper,” her actual work is higher than what her pay stub would suggest. Having said that, there are many opportunities to further ministry depending on the specific interests and gifting of the person who eventually fills the role. Rather than create expectations for someone we don’t even know yet, I’ll have lots more to say about this after we have a candidate in mind.

There were many thoughts about a community meal too, so next week I’ll answer some of those.

Please contact us if you any further questions!
